I consider the chakra system the Energy Bodies battery source. A chakra is a center of activity that receives, assimilates, and expresses life force energy. The word chakra literally translates as wheel or disk and refers to a spinning sphere of bioenergetics activity emanating from the major nerve ganglia branching forward from the spinal column. Chakra energy is within every living being. While we often concentrate on the ‘major eight’ there are also minor chakras in the hands, feet, fingertips, and shoulders. Raw energy is drawn up from the planet, through a being’s aura by the minor chakras in the legs and feet and fed into the main chakra system. This living energy field can be tapped into more deeply, by the application of focused, creative will.

This 20x20 sequin piece represents the Root Chakra. It is mounted and ready for hanging. This is a portrait depiction of Edgard Jean Louis, my spiritual Papa. While the others in this series are not people who once walked the earth, this root energy is strong in the ancestors.
